Thick beard, OMG it's so thick! how to grow a thick beardFor some men, it is hard to grow a thick beard, no matter how many beard care products they try. And, boy, it can get very frustrating. However, there are many solutions available, believe it or not, so don’t give up just yet! Keep reading this article since we are sure there are still some things you have not tried out yet.

One of the reasons men fail in beard growth is that it gets itchy for them, so much that it is too uncomfortable and they shave the whole thing off or trim it too early. A poor diet is another reason, that along with improper skin care don’t allow some men to be successful at growing their beards.

Therefore, we want to give you some tips we have found that work well with the majority of men so that you can enjoy a healthy-looking thick beard that can grow as long as you want it to. However, take into consideration that there are some things that will only depend on your genetics and testosterone levels and even if you light a candle and send some prayers out, there is not much you can do about it… or is there?

What factors contribute to a thicker beard?

You may think that hair growth rate varies from man to man, but the truth is that it is probably just the same. However, there is an illusion that makes certain beards look thicker and fuller and others, on the other hand, look thinner.

Beard color is one of those factors. Dark hair color will look thicker and fuller than light hair colors. Also, beard density is another important factor, since thicker facial hair seems fuller and gives the impression that the beard is growing faster when it is not. The diameter of the hair strands is also another factor that has an impact on the illusion of a thicker beard.

In addition, the older you get, the thicker your beard will grow and if you had patches when you were a teenager, they probably filled in later in your life. However, in this case, you just have to be patient so that your facial hair develops its density properly.

Tips for growing a thicker beard

1. Stick to the four-week rule

This rule means that you need to let your beard grow for one month completely to see its full potential. Many men get tired at week number three because they start suffering from beard itch and they decide to give up and shave it all off. What happens is that you are not letting it reach a thick status if you do this.

If you are able to pass the four-week mark then you are on your way of growing a thicker beard, so congratulations! And if you get beard itch it is most likely because you are not doing the proper beard care by keeping it hydrated and clean or it is just new hairs coming out.

2. Take care of your skin

The skin on your face is the foundation of a healthy, thick beard. To help take care of it you will need to apply moisturizer after washing your face on a daily basis. This will also stimulate circulation, exfoliate your skin, remove dead skin cells and open up your pores.

3. Exercise regularly

Another thing you can do to improve the quality of your beard is exercising regularly. Get rid of the extra weight you have and help your body produce more testosterone, which will promote healthy follicles and hair growth. You will also increase blood circulation, which provides nutrients to your body and also to your hair.

4. Reduce stress in your life

If you want to know how to grow a healthy beard you also need to know that stress also makes a difference. Why? Because of the increase of cortisol in your body, which has a negative impact on testosterone development.

In addition, stress also constricts blood vessels, which results in the nutrients not getting to your hair follicles.

5. Get enough rest

Another natural way to increase testosterone in your body is by getting enough sleep, especially if you are sleeping at least eight hours a night. This will decrease your stress levels, which, as we just explained above, can have an impact on your beard growth.

6. Eat better

You need to have a balanced diet with enough vitamins, which means more vegetables. Did you know that your hair growth is a protein filament? Therefore, the protein-rich foods you are consuming help your beard become healthier.

You can also add supplements to your diet, such as copper, zinc, magnesium, vitamin B, vitamin D, iron, vitamin B6, vitamin C and vitamin E. If you are not consuming a balanced diet, you are probably not getting these vitamins and minerals, which can have a positive impact on your beard.

Hydration is also important for your overall health and for improving beard growth. Drinking plenty of water every day will help your body eliminate toxins and it will help you have healthier skin (which means healthier hair, wherever it is located on your body).
